Key Cutting Procedure for Obtaining Replacement Key for 2008 Saturn Astra

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform Saturn retailers of two different options to cut keys for the new 2008 Saturn Astra. The new 2008 Saturn Astra uses a key that must be cut using a side-mill key cutter.

Option 1

Order key blank (uncoded/uncut), P/N 93192428, and sublet the key cutting operation to a dealership or other outside source with the appropriate side-mill equipment.

Option 2

Canadian Retailers: Order a pre-cut key, P/N 93192429, by contacting the Saturn Saab SWAT through TRACS. The finished key will be shipped via FedEx Overnight for orders placed prior to 11:30 AM Eastern time. Transportation charges will be invoiced separately. Refer to Saturn Saab SPO Bulletin number SS2007-204 (November 2007) for further details.

U.S. Retailers: Order a pre-cut key, P/N 93192429, using your Saturn Retailer System (SRS) parts computer. The finished key will be shipped via Fedex Overnight. For orders placed prior to 11:30 AM Eastern time, the cut key should be received the next day. When ordering a pre-cut key, use the following process:

1.	On the Parts Inquiry screen, enter quantity then TAB and enter P/N 93192429 and press FIELD EXIT and then ENTER.

2.	Enter Customer Name and Phone Number and press ENTER.

3.	Type an "L" in the "*" field to locate and press ENTER.

4.	In the Instrument Cluster Information box, input the Service Order number if available or enter a "0" and press FIELD EXIT.

5.	In the Mileage Field, enter the 4 numbers of the key code (found on the Key Code Look-Up inquiry in GM DealerWorld or on the Original Retailer New Car Invoice). Do not enter the alpha character, only the 4 numbers of the key code in this field. Press FIELD EXIT and ENTER.

6.	If a valid service order has been provided, the VIN field will populate. If a valid service order number was not supplied, enter the entire 17-character VIN and press F5 - ACCEPT.

7.	On the Locate Screen, enter "1" in the HOST Order field and press ENTER, then CMD5.

8.	On the Saturn Warehouse Delivery Mode screen, select the delivery option needed. "1" for overnight or "3" for overnight with Saturday delivery (on Friday). The supplier will ship all keys overnight priority.
