Power Steering Pump Hoses and Pipes Replacement ZF

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1937824 Size: MF
  1. Remove the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .

    2. Important: Oil will run out, use a drain pan.

  2. Remove the holder (1).
  3. Remove the supply line (2) and the return line (3) from the steering gear.

    4. Remove the bolt.


    Object Number: 1937819 Size: LH

    Important: Oil will run out, use a drain pan.

  4. Remove the supply and return lines from the electro-hydraulic supply unit.

    5. Remove the bolt (1).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the supply and return lines to the steering gear with new seal rings.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft) .

  2. Install the supply and return lines to the electro-hydraulic supply unit with the new seal rings.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft) .

  3. Clip the holder for the supply and return lines to the steering gear.
  4. Install the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .
  5. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

J 22610 Keystone Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 1948696 Size: SH
  2. Unclip the holder (1) for the supply and return lines from the steering gear.

    3. Important: Oil runs out, use catchment tray.

  3. Place a drain pan under the power steering line connections and remove the supply line (3) and return line (4) from the steering gear.
  4. Detach the return line from the steering gear.
  5. Remove the supply line (3) from the electro-hydraulic supply unit.
  6. Remove the supply line from the steering gear.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1948698 Size: SH
  1. Place the supply line (2) with the new seal ring on the steering gear.
  2. Place the supply line with the new seal ring on the electro-hydraulic supply unit.
  3. Place the return line (1) with the new seal ring on the steering gear.
  4. Place the return line (1) with new retaining strap to electro-hydraulic supply unit.
  5. Clip the holder (3) for the supply and return lines to the steering gear.

    6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Tighten the supply and return lines on the steering gear.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Tighten the supply line on the electro-hydraulic supply line.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  8. Fasten the return line with the retaining strap and J 22610 to the electro-hydraulic supply unit.
  9. Install the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement .
  10. Charge and bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
