Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON, with the scan tool, enter tire pressure monitor test mode.
- Press the tire pressure warning reset switch. Tire pressure warning indicator should illuminate.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the tire pressure warning reset switch.
- Test for less than 1 ohm between terminal 5 and terminal 8 of the reset switch with the switch in the On position.
⇒ | If not within the specified range, replace the tire pressure reset switch. |
- Test for infinite resistance between terminal 5 and terminal 8 of the reset switch with the switch in the Off position.
⇒ | If not within the specified range, replace the tire pressure reset switch. |
- Disconnect the harness connector at the Tire Pressure Control Module.
- Test for less than 1 ohm between the reset switch signal circuit terminal 1 and terminal 8.
⇒ | If greater than the specified value, test the reset switch signal circuit for an open/high resistance. |
- Test for infinite resistance between the reset switch signal circuit terminal 1 and ground.
⇒ | If less than the specified value, test the reset switch signal circuit for a short to ground. |
- Test for less than 1 ohm between the reset switch ground circuit terminal 5 and ground.
⇒ | If greater than the specified value, test the reset switch ground circuit for an open/high resistance. If circuit tests normal, replace the tire pressure control module. |
