Removal Procedure
- Complete the following steps in order to remove the park brake cable from the right rear brake:
- Remove the bolt and the park brake cable from the right rear backing plate.
- If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
3.2. | Remove the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield. |
3.3. | Remove the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield. |
3.4. | Remove the 5 bolts and the fuel tank shield. |
3.5. | If the vehicle has Antilock Brake System (ABS), separate the ABS harness from the right rear clamp. |
- Remove the 4 bolts from the 4 clamps.
- Remove the right rear park brake cable (6) from the equalizer (8).
Installation Procedure
- Install the right rear park brake cable (6) to the equalizer (8).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the 4 bolts in order to retain the 4 clamps.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5.4 N·m (47.79 lb in).
- If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
3.1. | If the vehicle has ABS, install the ABS harness to the right rear clamp. |
3.2. | Install the fuel tank shield and the 5 bolts. |
3.3. | Install the front floor center heat shield and the 2 nuts. |
3.4. | Install the front floor forward heat shield and the 3 nuts. |
Tighten
Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 5.5 N·m (48.68 lb in).
- Install the park brake cable and the bolt to the right rear backing plate.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 7.8 N·m (69.04 lb in).
- Complete the following steps in order to install the park brake cable to the right rear brake:
- Inspect the park brake lever travel. Adjust as necessary. Refer to
