Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the upper instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
  2. Remove the lower instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the connector housing bracket from the right I/P center support brace.

  4. Object Number: 844460  Size: SH
  5. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  6. • The left brace nut (10)
    • The right brace nut (5)
    • The left brace bolt (8)
    • The right brace bolt (7)
    • The left I/P center support brace (9)
    • The right I/P center support brace (6)

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 844460  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the left I/P center support brace (9) and the right I/P center support brace (6) to the vehicle. Secure the braces with the following retainers:
  2. • The left brace nut (10)
    • The right brace nut (5)
    • The right brace bolt (7)
    • The left brace bolt (8)

    Tighten
    Tighten the I/P center support brace nuts and bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  3. Install the connector housing bracket to the right I/P center support brace.
  4. Install the lower instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Install the upper instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement .
