Rattle or Squeak in Instrument Cluster Trim Bezel - kw cluster IP IPC lens noise

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

A rattle squeak itch type noise coming from the instrument cluster area.

Inspect the instrument trim bezel to determine if the noise is coming from its mounting tabs. If the noise is in this area:

1. Remove the bezel by pulling the bezel away from the upper instrument panel.
2. Apply a thin strip of felt tape (see note below) to the white plastic retaining clips attached to the back side of the bezel.
3. Reinstall bezel and re-evaluate the original concern.

Note: It may be necessary, that the same felt tape will have to also be applied to the lower center tab in the instrument cluster lens. The Flocking Tape is NOT available from SPO Parts. Dealers should obtain flocking (felt) tape from local supplier. (Paint supplier, Hardware Store, Craft Store, etc.) Note: This is a basic tape that has adhesive on one side and the felt on the other side.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
