Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 848545  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  2. Pull the water deflector far enough away to gain access to the door lock .
  3. Disconnect the power door lock actuator electrical connector (3), if equipped.
  4. Remove the following components from the door (1):
  5. • The 3 screws (4)
    • The door lock (5) with the cables (2) attached.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the rear door lock (5) to the door (1). Secure the door lock with the 3 screws (4).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the door lock screws to 5 N·m (43 lb in).

  3. Connect the power door lock actuator electrical connector (3), if equipped.
  4. Reposition the water deflector (3) to the door.
  5. Install the rear inside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
