Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 181797  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the cable adjusting locknuts (1).
  2. Remove the cruise control servo cable (2) from the bracket.
  3. Remove the cruise control cable (2) from the throttle lever (3).
  4. Opening the throttle lever by hand will aide in the removal of the cruise cable.

  5. Remove the cruise control servo cover (1) by applying slight outward pressure to both sides at the base of the cover (2).

  6. Object Number: 844777  Size: SH
  7. Remove the cruise control cable bracket screw (5).
  8. Remove the cruise control cable (4) from the bracket.
  9. Remove the cruise control cable (4) from the servo lever (1).
  10. Remove the cruise control servo cable from the vehicle by removing the cable from the cable guide clips.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the cruise control servo cable (4) to the servo lever (1).
  2. Install the cruise control cable (4) to the bracket. Secure the cable with the screw (5).

  3. Object Number: 844778  Size: SH
  4. Install the cruise control servo cover (1) by applying slight downward pressure to the cover until the tabs (2) lock.

  5. Object Number: 181797  Size: SH
  6. Install the cruise control cable (2) to the throttle lever (3).
  7. Opening the throttle lever by hand will aide in the installation of the cruise control cable.

  8. Install the cruise control cable (2) to accelerator cable bracket.
  9. Install the cruise control cable to the cable guide clips.
  10. Adjust the cable adjusting locknuts to allow slight freedom of movement between the cruise control cable and the throttle lever.
  11. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  12. Secure the cruise control cable locknuts (1).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the cruise control cable adjusting locknuts to 6 N·m (52 lb in).
