If a flash code has been stored, it must be cleared after the repair has been made. To clear flash codes, perform the following steps:

  1. Place the cruise control module (CCM) in diagnostic mode. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Displaying .
  2. Pull the cruise control switch to the CANCEL position and hold.
  3. While holding the cruise control switch to the CANCEL position, push the cruise control ON switch 5 times within 3 seconds.
  4. release the cruise control switch and check that the CRUISE indicator lamp flashes rapidly. This confirms that any flash codes have been cleared.
  5. If the CRUISE indicator lamp flashes any flash codes, perform the cruise control diagnostic system check to determine the cause of malfunction within the cruise control system.

Having the CCM in diagnostic mode, the cruise control system operation will occur normally with the exception that the CRUISE indicator will flash rapidly.
