Radio Will Not Accept a CD - keywords error fuse inop inoperative MP3 player

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Radio will not accept a CD.

There is a software glitch on the new MP3 radio going into production. As a result "pull & re-install the radio fuse first" on a customer complaint of "CD won't insert" prior to ordering a replacement radio as this may correct the condition.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
