Park Brake Hardware Replacement Drum Brakes

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 819274  Size: SH
  1. Remove the drum (17). Refer to Brake Drum Replacement .
  2. Remove the park brake hardware (7,8,9,10,11,12,13,23,24) with the brake shoes (14,20). Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 819275  Size: SH
  1. Apply Lubriplate® Lubricant, GM P/N 1050109 (Canadian P/N 5264008), or the equivalent, to the metal contact points on the backing plate (1) and the adjuster strut (3).
  2. Assemble the adjuster strut (2,3,4).

  3. Object Number: 819274  Size: SH
  4. Install the park brake hardware (7,8,9,10,11,12,13,23,24) with the shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .
  5. Install the drum (17). Refer to Brake Drum Replacement .

Park Brake Hardware Replacement Disc Brakes

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 817998  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear disc (12). Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  2. Remove the park brake hardware (4,5,6,7,10,11,14,15) with the park brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 818011  Size: SH
  1. Apply Lubriplate® Lubricant, GM P/N 1050109 (Canadian P/N 5264008), or the equivalent, to the metal contact points on the following components:
  2. • The backing plate (1)
    • The park brake shoe lever (2)
    • The adjuster strut (3)
    • The adjuster (4,5,6)
  3. Assemble the adjuster.

  4. Object Number: 817998  Size: SH
  5. Install the park brake hardware (4,5,6,7,10,11,14,15) with the park brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement .
  6. Install the rear disc (12). Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
