Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2006 🢒 Vibe - AWD 🢒 Brakes 🢒 Park Brake 🢒 Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

    2. Object Number: 853219 Size: SH
  2. Remove the park brake lever (1). Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement .
  3. If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
    4. 3.1. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
    3.2. Remove the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield.
    3.3. Remove the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield.
  4. Remove the front park brake cable (9) from the equalizer (8).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 853219 Size: SH
  1. Install the front park brake cable (9) to the equalizer (8).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
    3. 2.1. Install the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield.
    2.2. Install the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield.

    Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 5.5 N·m (48.68 lb in).

    2.3. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  3. Install the park brake lever (1). Refer to Park Brake Lever Assembly Replacement .
  4. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Rear Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
