Brake Proportion Valve Replacement Non-ABS
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in the Preface section.
- Clean the outside of the reservoir and the reservoir cap (4).
- Remove the reservoir cap.
- Remove the reservoir diaphragm.
- Remove the brake fluid with a syringe.
- Clean the proportioning valve (7) and the brake pipes.
- Remove the 5 brake pipes from the proportioning valve.
- Remove the 2 bolts (5, 6).
- Remove the proportioning valve.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the proportioning valve (7) and the 2 bolts (5, 6) to the cowl.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5.4 N·m (47.79 lb in).
- Install the brake pipes to the proportioning valve.
- Tighten the flare nuts (1, 2, 3, 4, 8)
Tighten
Tighten the flare nuts to 15.2 N·m (11.2 lb ft).
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
