Removal Procedure
- Remove the luggage carrier crossrails, if necessary. Refer to Luggage Carrier Cross Rail Replacement .
- Using a flat bladed tool, remove the luggage carrier side rail caps (1) from the luggage carrier side rail (6).
- Remove the 4 bolts (2) that retain the luggage carrier side rail (6).
- Using a flat bladed tool, disengage the plastic retainers (9) and remove the luggage carrier side rail (6) from the roof.
- Repeat the procedure to remove the second luggage carrier side rail, if necessary.
Installation Procedure
- Install the luggage carrier side rail (6) to the roof, push down until the 3 plastic retainers (9) engage.
- Install the 4 bolts (2).
- Install the luggage carrier side rail caps (1) to the luggage carrier side rail (6), make sure the plastic retainers (7) are fully engaged.
- Install the luggage carrier crossrails (1), if removed. Refer to Luggage Carrier Cross Rail Replacement .
- Repeat the procedure to install the second luggage carrier side rail, if removed.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the luggage carrier side rail mounting bolts to 16 N·m
(11 lb ft).
