Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Halogen Bulb Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the rubber cover and socket from the headlamp.

  3. Object Number: 242318  Size: SH
  4. Release the retainer clip (1) holding the bulb (2) by pressing down and moving the metal retainer away from the composite headlamp (3).
  5. Remove the bulb (2) from the composite headlamp (3), if necessary.
  6. Remove the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 815884  Size: SH
  8. Remove the 3 bolts which secure the composite headlamp.
  9. Remove the sidemarker bulb electrical connector.
  10. Remove the sidemarker bulb, if necessary.
  11. Remove the composite headlamp assembly from vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the sidemarker bulb to the composite headlamp, if removed.
  2. Connect the sidemarker bulb electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 815884  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Secure the composite headlamp to the vehicle with the 3 bolts .
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the headlamp mounting bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 242318  Size: SH
  8. Install the headlamp bulb (2) to the composite headlamp (3), if removed.
  9. Fasten the headlamp bulb retainer clip (2).
  10. Install the socket to the headlamp bulb.
  11. Install the rubber cover to the composite headlamp.
  12. Aim the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Aiming .
  13. Close the hood.
