Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 328464  Size: SH
  1. Remove the left front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  2. Remove the left body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Remove the foot rest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the left front and rear side door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Remove the left center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Remove the floor carpet retainers (1) from the left front and rear door sill flange.
  7. Position the floor panel carpet (3) aside to access the fuel tank filler door latch release cable.
  8. Remove the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing (2) bolt from the floor panel.
  9. Remove the fuel tank filler door latch release cable from the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing (2).
  10. Remove the left lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  11. Object Number: 879358  Size: SH
  12. Remove the fuel tank filler door latch release cable (1) from the fuel filler door retainer (2) by turning counter clock wise.
  13. Unclip the release cable (1) from the retaining clips and remove the cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install and route the fuel tank filler door latch release cable (1) to the vehicle. Secure the cable to the retaining clips.
  2. Install the fuel tank filler door latch release cable (1) to the fuel tank filler door retainer (2) by turning clock wise.
  3. Install the left lower quarter panel trim. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  4. Object Number: 328464  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the fuel tank filler door latch release cable to the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing (2). Secure the housing with the bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the handle housing bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Reposition the floor panel carpet (3) to its original position.
  8. Install the floor carpet retainers (1) to the left front and rear door sill pinch flange.
  9. Install the left center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Install the left front and rear side door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
  11. Install the body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  12. Install the foot rest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement in Interior Trim.
  13. Install the left front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
