The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that intermittently the recirc mode turns on by itself, and they can not turn it off. At the same time the A/C may start to blow warm air or the compressor cycles off. This can be caused if the head pressure readings are around 400 Psi or above. By forcing the HVAC system to recirc, this will help to cool the interior and reduce the load on the compressor. If the head pressure gets too high the compressor will shut off.

Prior to replacing any parts, perform the "Air Conditioning (A/C) System Performance Test" per SI to check the system for a high pressure concern.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
