This bulletin is being revised to change step 6 under Correction. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-08-49-004 (Section 08 -- Body and Accessories).


Condition

Some customers may comment on a ticking noise in the indicator needle of any of the four gauges in the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).

Cause

This condition may be caused by the stepper motor moving the needle of any of the four gauges.

Correction

  1. Verify the customer concern.
  2. Remove the old IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in SI.
  3. Obtain a replacement IP cluster from an Electronic Service Center (ESC).
  4. Install the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in SI.
  5. Reprogram the IP cluster with the latest calibration available through TIS.
  6. Inform customers that the gauge indicator needles will sweep from minimum to maximum then back to minimum position at vehicle start up.
