The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The customer may have complaint of trans slipping badly (4th or 5th gear start), harsh garage shift (P to R worst), or SES on with DTCs :P0962, P0963, P0966, P0967, P0970, P971, P973, P0974, P0976, P0977, P0979, P0980, P0982, P0983, P0985, P0986.
Recommendation/Instructions:
One of the 8 IC drivers which drives the eight solenoids in the transaxle is inoperative. Replace ITCM for 2007 Equinox, Torrents built up to and including SEP 2006 build month. VIN breakpoint = 76043100.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
