Vehicle Speed Related Vibration/Shudder 25/30 MPH - keywords axle joint shaft

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Vehicle may exhibit a vibration/shudder that will be most noticeable under acceleration in the steering wheel at approximately 25/30 MPH (vehicle speed may vary). Vehicles will have been built prior to 10/1/2006, if the vehicle build date is after 10/1/2006 this PI DOES NOT apply.

Step 1: If a vibration is verified swap the right front half shaft with a vehicle that does not exhibit the vibration if the concern is no longer present replace the half shaft.

Step 2: If the vibration is still present reinstall the right half shaft and swap the left half shaft for evaluation if the concern is no longer present replace the half shaft.

Note: ONLY replace the effected half shaft, in some extreme cases it may be necessary to replace both half shafts.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
