ABS And/Or Traction Off Indicators On With DTC C0045 And/Or C0050 - keywords brake code control indicator investigation light off parts rear

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

The ABS and/or Traction off indicators come on with DTC C0045 and/or C0050 set in the EBTCM. This can be caused by a poor pin connection at the rear wheel speed sensor connector.

1. Unplug the appropriate wheel speed sensor connector and inspect the female terminals and perform a pin drag test using Test Probe: 12094429/J-35616-2A (GY). If the terminals are damaged, replace the wheel speed sensor.
2. If the terminals test OK, then re-connect the wheel speed sensor connector.
3. Use the Tech 2 to clear the codes from the EBCM.
4. Test drive the vehicle and then re-check for codes. If the C0045 and/or C0050 set, replace the appropriate wheel speed sensor.

Note: If the code(s) did not return, do not replace the wheel speed sensor. The cycling of the wheel speed sensor connector may have corrected a concern of a poor connection.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
