Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement .
2. Lower and position the steering column out of the way. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

Instrument Panel Carrier Bolt (Qty: 5)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Instrument Panel Carrier Screw (Qty: 1)

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Instrument Panel Carrier Nut (Qty: 8)

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Instrument Panel Carrier Assembly

Tip

1. Note the location and routing of the instrument panel wiring harness prior to removal in order to assist in the reinstallation.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. With the aid of an assistant, remove the carrier from the vehicle.

Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
2. Remove the I/P cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
3. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
4. Remove the HVAC control module. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .
5. Remove the bolts and nuts securing the column to the instrument panel, lower and position the steering column out of the way. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

Instrument Panel Carrier Assembly

Procedures

1. Note the location and routing of the instrument panel wiring harness prior to removing the carrier assembly in order to ensure reinstallation.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. With the aid of an assistant, remove the carrier from the vehicle.
4. When replacing the carrier assembly, transfer all necessary components.
