PQC Part Restriction - A/C Compressor - keywords 89025003 19130500 air C60 condition hum HVAC inop int intermittent moan noise number part rattle vibration

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

As part of our ongoing quality improvement efforts, the A/C Compressors (Part# 89025003, 19130550) will be placed on restriction through the PQC effective Tuesday 4/22/08. The restriction is to assist GM Engineering with product quality feedback.

3. Is the concern noise (Growl, Buzzing, whine or moan)? Y/N What type of noise?
4. If yes, has dealer followed bulletin 06-01-39-016C? Y/N
5. Is the noise audible at road speed or only at idle? Y/N

Note: Solstice and Sky vehicles have a low level of A/C system growl. Replacing the compressor with not eliminate the low level noise.

6. Is there sufficient refrigerant in the A/C system? Y/N
7. The factory A/C system contains refrigerant dye. Are there any visible leaks coming from the compressor or A/C plumbing? Y/N
8. Is there a leak or any damage to the A/C Compressor?
