Subject: | Intermittent No Crank Condition |
Models: | 2006-2007 Pontiac Solstice |
2007 Saturn Sky |
with 2.4L Engine (VIN B - RPO LE5) |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
On rare occasions, an intermittent no crank, no start concern may be encountered. This may be the result of a poor connection for the purple circuit at the "S" terminal of the starter due to glue contamination. If this occurs, the customer may hear a momentary click from the starter, or they may not hear any noise at all.
If this concern is encountered, remove the purple circuit from the "S" of the starter and inspect the connection for signs of glue that may be causing the poor connection. If there is glue present, remove the glue, and reassemble the connection with a star washer. Also ensure that the positive cable is tight while inspecting this connection.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
