Component Name

Important: The park brake cable adjusting nut is a nylon lock type. Use ONLY HAND TOOLS whenever tightening or loosening the adjusting nut.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the center console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  2. With the park brake lever fully released, completely back off the cable adjustment nut.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

Front Park Brake Cable

Tip

    • Carefully position the driveline tunnel insulator downward just enough to access the cable equalizer.
    • Rotate the front cable end to release the cable from the equalizer.

Park Brake Lever Mounting Nut (Qty: 4)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Park Brake Lever

Tip

    •  Disconnect the electrical connector from the warning lamp switch.
    • Adjust the tension of the park brake cables. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
