Slotted holes are provided at the hood hinge attaching points for proper adjustment, both cross car, fore and aft, the rear corners to the doors and the fenders. Vertical adjustment at the front may be made by adjusting the rubber bumpers up and down.
For best results, make one adjustment at a time.
Leading Edge of the Hood (Minor Up/Down Variation or Shake)
- Determine the amount of adjustment needed.
- Open the hood.
- Raise or lower the vertical adjustment bumpers at the hood hinge to the specified height.
- Inspect the hood alignment.
Fore and Aft Adjustment
- Determine the amount of adjustment needed.
- Open the hood.
- Loosen the hinge to hood bolts.
- Reposition the hinge.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the hinge bolts.
Tighten
Tighten to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Inspect the hood alignment.
Cross-Car Adjustment
- Determine the amount of adjustment needed.
- Open the hood.
- Loosen the hinge to hood hinge.
- Reposition the hinge.
- Tighten the hinge bolts.
Tighten
Tighten to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Inspect the hood alignment.
Up/Down Adjustment Rear Edge of Hood (To Achieve Fit to the Doors and Fenders)
- Determine the amount of adjustment needed.
- Open the hood.
- Loosen the side hood latch.
- Reposition the hood latch.
- Tighten the hood latch bolts.
Tighten
Tighten to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Inspect the hood alignment.
