Removal Procedure
Notice: Cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system in
order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the open
pipes and passages.
- Remove the rear compartment trim panel.

- Remove the fuel pump module access cover bolts.
- Remove the fuel pump module access cover.
- Remove the fuel fill pipe housing bolts.
- Remove the fuel fill pipe housing.
- Remove the rear wheelhouse liner. Refer to
Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement
.
- Remove the fill pipe ground strap bolt (2).
- Disconnect the fuel tank fill evaporative emission (EVAP) line quick connect
fitting (3). Refer to
Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
- Loosen the fuel fill pipe hose clamp (1) at the fuel tank.
- Separate and remove the fuel fill pipe hose assembly.
- Cover or plug the fuel tank opening and the EVAP line in order to prevent
fuel loss and/or system contamination.
Installation Procedure
- Remove the cover and/or plug from the fuel
tank opening and the EVAP line.
- Install the fuel fill pipe hose assembly.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the fuel fill pipe hose clamp (1) at the fuel tank.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
- Connect the fuel tank fill EVAP line quick connect fitting (3). Refer
to
Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
- Install the fill pipe ground strap bolt (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the rear wheelhouse liner. Refer
to
Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement
.
- Install the fuel fill pipe housing.
- Install the fuel fill pipe housing bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).
- Install the pump module access cover.
- Install the fuel pump module access cover bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to
