Schematic Reference: Instrument Cluster Schematics

1. Connect a scan tool.
2. Check for engine control diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

Is the vehicle speed sensor DTC set?

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle

Go to Step 2

1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM) connector.
3. Remove the instrument cluster.
4. Check continuity between ECM terminal 21 (51 ; Sirius D42) and the instrument cluster connector terminal A15.

Does the ohmmeter indicate the specified value?

0ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Repair the open circuit between the meter cluster connector terminal A15 and the ECM.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Replace the speedometer.

Is the repair complete?
