Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1224854 Size: SH
  1. Remove the tie rod end. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .
  2. Remove the tie rod end lock nut.

    3. Object Number: 1224853 Size: SH
  3. Remove the boot clamp (2).
  4. Cut off the boot wire clamp (1).

    5. Object Number: 1224859 Size: SH
  5. Grease the tie rod to ease removal (1).
  6. Remove the boot (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1224857 Size: SH
  1. Install the rack and pinion boot with the clamp and the wire clamp.
  2. Install the tie rod end nut.
  3. Install the tie rod end. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .
