The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Dealer installing the SPO factory XM™ radio kit (p/n 19154567) on vehicles with the US4 Navigation radio may find that the system will not power up and they have no communication with the XM™ Digital Radio Receiver (DRR).

Recommendation/Instructions:

On the GMSPO XM™ radio kit, the class 2 circuit for the DRR comes from radio connector C2 pin G. On the US4 radio there is no class 2 circuit in this location.

On the US4 radio only, the technician needs to remove the class 2 circuit from C2 pin G (purple wire) of the XM™ kit harness and install it into radio connector C1 pin A2.

Note: Terminal G of connector C2 and A2 of connector C1 show as empty on the connector end view in eSI (document ID 1808891).

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
