Removal Procedure
- Raise the rear compartment lid.
- Place the protective coverings over the adjacent body panels.
- Use a grease pencil to mark the hinge to the rear compartment lid for the location at installation.
- Disconnect all electrical connectors from the rear compartment lid harness.
- Remove the rubber height adjustment bumpers.
- Remove the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement.
- Remove the rear spoiler, if equipped. Refer to
Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- Remove the nuts from the rear compartment lid hinges with an assistant.
- Remove the rear compartment lid with an assistant.
Installation Procedure
- Position the rear compartment lid to the hinges with an assistant.
- Install the nuts to the rear compartment lid hinges.
Do not torque the nuts until after the lid has been aligned.
- Align the rear compartment lid for even gaps.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the rear compartment lid hinge nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the rubber height adjustment bumpers.
Important: When installing a new compartment lid, use mechanics wire to pull the wiring harness into position.
- Install the rear compartment lid wiring harness to the rear compartment lid.
- Install the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the electrical components on the rear compartment lid.
- Install the rear spoiler, if equipped. Refer to
Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- Remove the protective coverings.
- Adjust the rear compartment height by turning the black rubber bumpers by hand.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
