Preliminary Procedures
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Release the tension from park brake system at the equalizer.
- Disconnect the front and rear cables from one another at the connector clip.
- Disconnect the park brake cable from the park brake lever on the brake caliper.
- Remove the park brake cable from the caliper bracket.

Tighten 54 N·m (40 lb ft) |

| Fitting, Brake Hose
Tip Cap or plug the brake hose fitting and the open inlet port of the brake caliper to prevent fluid loss and contamination. |

| Gasket, Brake Hose Fitting (Qty: 2)
Tip DO NOT reuse the brake hose fitting gaskets. Install NEW gaskets. |

| Bolt, Brake Caliper Guide Pin (Qty: 2)
Tighten 34 N·m (25 lb ft) |

| Caliper, Brake
Tip
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
- With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance.
- Slowly release the brake pedal.
- Wait 15 seconds, then repeat steps 2-3 until a firm brake pedal is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and the brake pads.
- Fill the master cylinder reservoir to the proper level. Refer to
Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.
- Adjust the park brake. Refer to
Park Brake Adjustment.
- Burnish the pads and rotors. Refer to
Brake Pad and Rotor Burnishing.
