This is a notice to immediately stop delivery of all 1991 Chevrolet Lumina Z34, Pontiac Grand Prix and Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme models with 3.4L (LQ1) engine with the attached VINS. The engine in these vehicles may have exhaust valves that were not chrome plated. Engine damage could eventually result without corrective action. Therefore, the engines should be replaced before delivery.
A representative from the GM St. Catharine's Engine Plant will be contacting you to arrange shipment of necessary exchange engines. Please follow the directions for exchange as specified in GM Service Bulletin 91-634-100.
You do not have to contact the Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) for authority for this exchange unless you experience a problem.
Remember to install a Campaign I.D. Label upon completion of the campaign action.

Credit for the campaign work performed will be paid upon receipt of a properly completed campaign claim card or DCS transmission in accordance with the following:

Time allowance includes 0.1 hour for dealer administrative detail associated with this campaign. An allowance of $283.00 has been included in both repair codes for Parts Handling plus the cost of miscellaneous items such as engine oil and engine coolant.
