SUBJECT: EXHAUST TAILPIPE EXTENSION RATTLE (REPLACE EXTENSION)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991 PONTIAC "W" CAR /W"AERO PERFORMANCE PACKAGE" (RPO B4U)

Condition:

---------- Some 1991 Grand Prix SR and GT coupes with "Aero Performance Package" (RPO B4U) option may exhibit a metallic rattle coming from the rear of the vehicle that is audible in the passenger compartment.

Cause:

-------- Exhaust tailpipe extension contacts rear bumper valance panel/heat shield resulting in rattle condition.

Correction:

------------ If this condition is encountered, both the existing exhaust tailpipe extensions may be replaced with those indicated below:

LH Tailpipe Extension - P/N 10199291 RH Tailpipe Extension - P/N 10199292
