Subject: EXHAUST TAILPIPE EXTENSION RATTLE (REPLACE EXTENSION)

Models Affected: 1991 GRAND PRIX MODELS WITH AERO PERFORMANCE PACKAGE" (RPO B4U)

Condition:

----------- Some 1991 Grand Prix SE and GT coupes with "Aero Performance Package" (RPO B4U) option may exhibit a metallic rattle coming from the rear of the vehicle that is audible in the passenger compartment.

Cause:

------- Exhaust tailpipe extension contacts rear bumper valance panel/heat shield resulting in rattle condition.

Correction:

------------ If this condition is encountered, both the existing exhaust tailpipe extensions may be replaced with those indicated below:

LH Tailpipe Extension - P/N 10199291

RH Tailpipe Extension - P/N 10199292

Parts are expected to be available on November 4, 1991. In case of limited inventory, parts will be placed on 400 Control to waive VIP surcharges. only verifiable emergency VIP orders will be accepted. SPO will make every effort to obtain parts. However, the part will be shipped premium transportation at dealer's expense and all other order types will be placed on backorder until the 400 control is removed.
