1989 GRAND PRIX WITH SUNROOF OPTION (CF5)
Some 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix vehicles with a sun roof may have a warped "B" Pillar garnish molding, caused by acoustical material interference with the sun roof drain hose on right and/or left sides. To eliminate this interference use the following procedure:
1. Partially remove "B" pillar garnish moldings. 2. Remove acoustical material from back side of garnish molding. 3. Reinstall molding.
If molding has taken a warped set, heat molding with a heat gun held 8 to 12 inches from surface for approximately 30 seconds then install molding.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
