--------- Some owners of 1992-93 Grand Am models built prior to breakpoints PM741418 or PC554653 may comment on a condition where the lower I/P compartment does not appear to be flush with the instrument panel.
---------- 1. Remove right I/P trim plate as outlined in Section 8C of the service manual.
2. Remove material from the right I/P trim plate as shown in Figure 1.
3. Finish surface with a fine file.
4. Loosen the center support to I/P screw.
5. With hand pressure, press I/P forward as far as the center support hole will allow and tighten. Refer to Figure 2.
6. Reinstall right I/P trim plate as outlined in the service manual.
