---------- Some 1992 Grand Am models may experience a condition where the instrument panel cover may not stay seated to the instrument panel.
High foam seal density may prevent the retaining clips from fully seating into the bosses and may allow the cover to "pop up" in service.
----------- The condition may be corrected as follows:
1. Remove the I/P cluster cover as outlined in the 1992 Grand Am Service Manual, Section 8C, page 8C-9.
2. Trim foam seal and remove shaded portion as shown in Figure 1.
3. Reinstall I/P cover as outlined in the 1992 Grand Am Service Manual.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
