AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RETURN PROGRAM

This bulletin is being revised to change verbiage from assemblies to components so parts will be returned. The part number listing has also been removed so that all parts are included. Please discard bulletin 89-SM-2 dated 11/88.

It is requested that all 1989 inoperative air cleaner components covered under warranty be returned to AC Rochester until September 1, 1989. This return program will allow AC Rochester to analyze and evaluate each of the returns for appropriate action.

- The return program runs until September 1, 1989 and includes all AC Rochester components covered under labor operation number J5000. DO NOT return components after this date.

- Return only AC Rochester parts to:

AC ROCHESTER C/0 Goodwill Industries 501 S. Averill Avenue Industrial Dock 7 or 8 Flint, MI 48506

- A copy of each repair order must be packaged protectively with the assemblies.

- Return the defective assemblies once a month.

- Ship prepaid via UPS - DO NOT send by air. Reimbursement for freight should be applied for on a warranty claim.

This program will not penalize dealerships if components are found not to be inoperative.

Your cooperation is essential to ensuring continued customer satisfaction and product quality.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
