Verify that the inoperative passenger door power window fault is present.

Does the passenger door power window operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Connect a test lamp across the passenger side power window switch UP circuit and the passenger side power window switch DOWN circuit with the wiring harness connected.
  3. Activate the passenger window switch to the UP position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Activate the passenger window switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the ignition to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the passenger side power window motor wiring harness.
  3. Connect a test lamp across both circuits of the passenger side power window motor wiring harness connector.
  4. Turn the ignition to ON.
  5. Activate the passenger window switch to the UP position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Activate the passenger window switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

With the test lamp connected to a known good ground, test the passenger side power window motor UP circuit at the motor connector for battery voltage when the window switch is in the UP position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the passenger window motor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the passenger window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair open in passenger side power window motor battery feed circuit with the power window switch in the UP position.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 15

Repair open in the passenger side power window motor ground feed circuit with the power window switch in the UP position.

Did you complete the repair?

Repair an open in the passenger side power window switch DOWN circuit between the power window switch and the body control module (BCM).

Replace the passenger window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

Replace the passenger window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .
