Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Close the driver and passenger doors.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn OFF the ignition.

Do the retained accessory power functions (power windows, radio) operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the RAP relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the RAP relay control circuit and the RAP relay ground circuit.
  3. Close the driver and passenger doors.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  5. Turn OFF the ignition.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Test the RAP relay control circuit and ground circuit for opens. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Connect a test lamp between the RAP relay supply voltage circuit and the RAP relay ground circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in the RAP relay supply voltage circuit.

Did you complete the repair?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems.

Test the RAP relay output circuit for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the RAP relay.
