Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 157703  Size: SH
  1. Before you service any fuel system connection, relieve the fuel system pressure Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Grasp both sides of the quick connect fitting and twist 1/4 turn in each direction in order to loosen any dirt.
  3. Caution: Wear safety glasses when using compressed air in order to prevent eye injury.

  4. Remove any dirt, dust, or other foreign material from the quick connect fitting with compressed air.

  5. Object Number: 12777  Size: SH
  6. Squeeze the release tabs on the plastic retainer.

  7. Object Number: 12778  Size: SH
  8. Pull the quick connect fuel fitting apart. Use a shop towel to catch any remaining fuel that may leak from the fuel line and the fitting.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Always apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe ends before connecting the fuel pipe fittings in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury. This will ensure proper reconnection and prevent a possible fuel leak. During normal operation, the O-rings located in the female connector will swell and may prevent proper reconnection if not lubricated.

  1. Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the end of the male fuel pipe.

  2. Object Number: 21855  Size: SH
  3. Insert the male fuel pipe into the quick connect fitting.
  4. Push both sides of the quick connect fitting together until the fitting clicks.

  5. Object Number: 155399  Size: SH
  6. Pull and push repeatedly on both sides of the quick connect fitting in order to ensure that the connection is secure.
