This bulletin is being revised to update the models and provide additional correction information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 05-05-23-010B (Section 05 - Brakes).

Condition

Some customers may comment on an excessive squeak and/or a squeal noise from the front brakes while stopping, usually during light to moderate brake applications.

Note that some brake noise is normal. Refer to the Brake Noise section of Corporate Bulletin Number 00-05-22-002F.

Correction

Verify the brake noise is being generated by the front brake pads. If the noise is from the front brake pads, install the new brake pad lining kit.

Important:

   • Rotor friction surfaces must be returned to an unburnished condition.
   • Do not replace the brake pads after the VIN breakpoint below because these vehicles are already equipped with the updated brake pads.
