Important: If the folding top is not able to power, position can be achieved manually. With the aid of an assistant, open the folding top to the above position shown and carefully hold the top until the straps can be
installed. Use special tool

or equivalent to hold the folding top in place.
Ensure that the straps are removed after the repairs are completed and BEFORE cycling the folding top under
power.
- Start cycling the folding top open, and release the switch when the top is over-center rearward and the stowage compartment closeout panels are in a vertical position.
- Install the loop of the folding top straps (1) on the left and right strikers (2) located on the folding top side rail link assembly.
- Wrap the left and right sides with the straps (1) one time around the upper rail link (3), positioning it in the center between the rivet and pin/clip.
- Pull the straps (1) tight, and then install the remaining loops on the same folding top strikers on both sides.
- If under power, there should be some slight slack in the straps at this time
- Being careful to watch that the straps are properly engaging, turn the ignition key to the off position.
- Upon completion of repairs, with the aid of an assistant, manually pull the front roof panel slightly forward to create enough slack in the straps to remove the straps.
- Holding the roof securely, remove the straps.
- Continue to manually pull the roof panel forward until the folding top is resting on the windshield header.
- Check the folding top for proper operation.
