Sunroof Sunshade Replacement C3Y - Reinstall

1. Cycle the sunshade to the middle of opening.
2. Lower the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.




Important:  Do this from inside the vehicle.

3. Grasping the front corners of the sunshade, roll the sunshade counterclockwise.

Release the sunshade from the forward rail to release tension.




4. Sunshade guides (2) are located in the front of the sunshade, one on each side.

The guide block (1) stays in the track.




5. Pull forward and turn outward to release the sunshade from the tracks.
6. Roll the sunshade rearward over the front edge of the sunroof support.



7. Remove the end cap (1) on the left side that holds the sunshade spring in place.
8. Remove the sunshade from the sunroof assembly.

1. Roll the sunshade up and place a tie wraps at each end of the sunshade, this will prevent the sunshade from unwapping.
2. Install the sunshade end to the slot in the end plate.
3. Install the sunshade to the sunroof assembly.



4. Install the spring and cap (1) to the left side of the sunshade.

Push inward on the cap while turning counterclockwise to lock in place.

5. Rewind the sunshade 21 times in the counter clock wise direction.
6. Have assistant hold the sunshade, this will maintain tenison on the roller spring.
7. Remove the tie wraps at each end.
8. Feed the forward edge of the sunshade over the sunroof support.



9. Install the sunshade to the guides (2) to the guide blocks (1) located in the front of the sunshade, one on each side.



10. Pull forward and turn clockwise to install the sunshade to the tracks.
11. Inspect the sunroof for proper operation.
12. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .

Sunroof Sunshade Replacement CF5

1. Remove the sunroof window panel from the sunroof module. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement .
2. Close the sunshade to within a hand-width of full closure.
3. From the top of the vehicle, push the sunshade toward the far side of the sunroof window track assembly.



4. Carefully arch the sunshade upward at the center of the forward edge.
5. Lift upward on the forward edge of the sunshade until the front sunshade guide is released from the track assembly.
6. Slightly rotate the sunshade forward. Carefully arch the sunshade upward at the center of the rearward edge.
7. Lift upward on the rearward edge of the sunshade until the rear sunshade guide is released from the track assembly.



8. Lift upward and pull the sunshade to release the front and the rear guides from the track on the far side.
9. Remove the sunshade from the sunroof module. Ensure that the guides are still retained to the tabs on the sunshade.

1. If you are replacing the sunroof sunshade, transfer the 4 sunshade guides from the original sunshade to the new part.
2. When installing the guides into the track assembly, lightly push down on the guide's top spring feature, allowing the guide to seat in the track.



3. From the top of the vehicle, install the sunshade and the sunshade guides into the track assembly on the far side.
4. Carefully arch the sunshade upward at the center of the rearward edge.
5. Lift upward on the rearward edge of the sunshade until the rear sunshade guide can be positioned and seated into the track assembly.



6. Slightly rotate the sunshade forward. Carefully arch the sunshade upward at the center of the forward edge.
7. Lift upward on the forward edge of the sunshade until the front sunshade guide can be positioned and seated into the track assembly.
8. Inspect the sunshade for proper operation.
9. Install the sunroof window panel. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement .
10. Inspect sunroof for proper operation.

Sunroof Sunshade Replacement C3Y - New

1. Cycle the sunshade to the middle of opening.
2. Lower the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .




Important:  Do this from inside the vehicle.

3. Grasping the front corners of the sunshade, roll the sunshade counterclockwise.

Release the sunshade from the forward rail to release tension.

5. Pull forward and turn outward to release the sunshade from the tracks.
6. Roll the sunshade rearward over the front edge of the sunroof support.



7. Remove the end cap (1) on the left side that holds the sunshade spring in place.
8. Remove the sunshade from the sunroof assembly.

Important: If the sunshade spring releases, Refer to Reinstall within this cell.

A new sunshade service part comes pre-loaded with a pin tool holding spring tension on the sunshade.
1. Install the sunshade roller to the end plate, allowing the pin to be expose through the end plate.
2. Install the sunshade to the sunroof assembly.



3. Install the spring and cap (1) to the left side of the sunshade.

Push inward on the cap while turning counterclockwise to lock in place.

4. Feed the forward edge of the sunshade over the sunroof support.



5. Install the sunshade to the guides (2) to the guide blocks (1) located in the front of the sunshade, one on each side.



6. Pull forward and turn clockwise to install the sunshade to the tracks.



7. Remove the tool (1) from the end plate slot (2) and sunshade roller (3).
8. Inspect the sunroof for proper operation.
9. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
