Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON, driver door open, verify the scan tool Driver Door Ajar Sw. parameter displays Door Ajar.
- Ignition ON, passenger door open, verify the scan tool Door Ajar Sw. parameter displays Door Ajar.
- Open the driver door while observing the courtesy lamps. All of the courtesy lamps should be illuminated.
⇒ | If all of the courtesy lamps are inoperative refer to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative - All |
- If some courtesy lamps are inoperative refer to Courtesy Lamp Inoperative
Circuit/System Testing
Courtesy Lamps Inoperative - All
- Place the Dome/Reading Lamp switch in the ON position. The dome lamp should illuminate.
⇒ | If the dome lamp does not illuminate, test the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
- Test the courtesy lamp control circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
Courtesy Lamp Inoperative
- Disconnect the inoperative courtesy lamp.
- Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the courtesy lamp. |
- Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamp control circuit and B+. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the courtesy lamp control circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the courtesy lamp. |
