Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  3. Object Number: 1237908  Size: SH
  4. Remove the trailing arm bracket to body bolts.
  5. If equipped, remove the rear axle tie rod bracket brace. Refer to Rear Axle Tie Rod Bracket Brace Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 1237904  Size: SH
  7. Remove the trailing arm to knuckle through bolt.
  8. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the trailing arm. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement .
  9. Remove the trailing arm from the vehicle.

  10. Object Number: 1237910  Size: SH
  11. Remove the trailing arm to bracket bolt and nut.
  12. Remove the trailing arm from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1237910  Size: SH
  1. Assemble the trailing arm and bracket.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the trailing arm to bracket through bolt to 60 N·m (44 lb ft) plus 60 degrees.

  3. Position the trailing arm to the vehicle.

  4. Object Number: 1237904  Size: SH
  5. Install the trailing arm to knuckle bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 180 N·m (133 lb ft).

  7. Connect the parking brake cable to the trailing arm. Refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement .
  8. If equipped, install the rear axle tie rod bracket brace. Refer to Rear Axle Tie Rod Bracket Brace Replacement .

  9. Object Number: 1237908  Size: SH
  10. Install the trailing arm bracket to body bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bracket to body bolts to 90 N·m (66 lb ft) plus 30 degrees plus an additional 15 degrees.

  12. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
