Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 758466  Size: SH
  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug.
  4. Remove the oil pan drain plug.
  5. Allow the oil to drain completely.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the oil pan drain plug.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Lower the vehicle.

    Important: DO NOT use an open end wrench on the hex on top of the oil filter cap.

  11. Use a 32 mm (1 1/4 in) socket on the hex on top of the oil filter cap, or an oil filter wrench on the outside diameter of the oil filter cap.
  12. Remove the oil filter cap and filter.
  13. Remove the filter from the cap.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the NEW oil filter to the cap.
  2. Install the oil filter cap and filter.
  3. Notice: Over torquing the oil filter cap may cause damage to the oil filter cap resulting in an oil leak.

    Important: DO NOT use an open end wrench on the hex on top of the oil filter cap.

  4. Use a 32 mm (1 1/4 in) socket on the hex on the top of the oil filter cap, or an oil filter wrench on the outside diameter of the oil filter cap .
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter cap until fully seated, DO NOT exceed 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Fill the engine with oil. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations .
  7. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
