---------- Intermittent electrical wiring conditions have been found on 1990-91 Firebird models. Some of the symptoms may be poor performance, rough idle, hesitation, engine miss, surging, fuses blowing, and tachometer jumping.
------ The wiring at the right rear of the V-8 engine is congested. The wire harness may chaff, causing intermittent opens or shorts, in three areas: the engine lift hook, the ignition coil bracket, and the lower heater hose clamp.
----------- Locate the wire open or short, and repair as required. If the open or short is found at the hose clamp, rotate the clamp so that it does not touch the harness. Secure the wire harness using tie straps so that there is no movement, to avoid any rubbing conditions. Also insure that the wires are routed away from the AIR pipes.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
