FLUID LEAKS FROM FILL TUBE NEW OIL DEFLECT ON CONTROL VLV

BEGINNING NOVEMBER 19, 1985, OR JULIAN DATE 323 (REFER TO FIGURE 1), CERTAIN 1986 THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSION MODELS (REFER TO MODEL USAGE ABOVE) WERE BUILT WITH A NEW OIL DEFLECTOR ON THE CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY. THE NEW OIL DEFLECTOR, SECURED TO THE CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY BY TWO EXISTING BOLTS (REFER TO FIGURE 2), WILL PREVENT TRANSMISSION FLUID FROM SPILLING OUT OF THE OIL FILL TUBE DURING RAPID REVERSE TO DRIVE SHIFT MANEUVERS. THE NEW OIL DEFLECTOR CAN BE USED ON ANY 1982 THROUGH 1986 THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSION, EXHIBITING THIS CONDITION, BY ORDERING SERVICE PART NUMBER 8654702.
